Meet Our New Chief Operations Officer, Alexis McKinnis

Mni Sota Fund is excited to welcome our new Chief Operations Officer (COO), Alexis McKinnis (White Earth Lineal Descendent). Alexis is a leader grounded in community, systems thinking, and a deep commitment to doing the work that sustains and strengthens our communities.

Alexis is a proven leader working across organizations with a deep commitment to community change and growth. After starting her career in restaurant management and journalism, she made a pivotal shift to this work in 2020. Finding her passion in operations, Alexis felt bonded by Mni Sota Fund’s focus on community wealth building.  

“I’m a natural builder of systems and infrastructure, and I’m excited to help launch Mni Sota Fund into its next phase of expansion, working with families, businesses, and communities beyond the Twin Cities.”

Outside of work, she finds her greatest joy in spending time with her two dogs and two cats.
